Hey everybody! Well the workshop happens in about three weeks, and I have another exciting announcement to make. Our guest director on day two of the workshop (Sun 1/26), is none other than award-winning director Jason Satterlund of Big Puddle Films. Jason has many great projects happening and slated for 2014, and has graciously offered an afternoon of his busy time to work with the young actors in the workshop. I am very thrilled to have him join us, and the feedback/critique session with Jason and Dennis Troutman is sure to be a memorable one!
The workshop takes place Sat and Sun, 1/25&26, from 10am-5pm each day. Cost is $260 for the two-day event. Anyone who pays in full before 1/15 gets a discounted rate of $225. January 2014 Kids Workshop Curriculum and Guest Announcement!
Hey everybody, I have some exciting guests to introduce, as well as a curriculum for the upcoming audition intensive weekend workshop on January 25th and 26th, 2014! A PayPal option is available to the top right of the blog,
with an Early Bird Special for anyone that pays in full before January
15th. There is also a discount for families with multiple young actors.
GUEST ANNOUNCEMENT:
For this two-day, action-packed, on-camera audition workshop, I am very fortunate to have lined up two amazing guests: casting director Lori Lewis of Free Spirit Casting, and talent agent Dennis Troutman of Option Model and Media. Lori will be joining us in the second half of the day on Saturday, as the kids do their "first read" audition simulations. Dennis will come later on Sunday to watch the taped audition reviews and give feedback. Both will be available for brief Q&As with young actors and parents, at the end of their visits. I am also going to have a guest director coming on the first half of Sunday's session, when we will be doing the "callbacks". As most of the very good directors I know are busy, this is a tough slot to fill. I'm still waiting to hear a definitive answer from my first choice. As soon as I have a name, I will share it.

11:00am to 1:00pm - rehearsal and preparation for "audition".

New Young Actors Audition Intensive Weekend January 25 & 26, 2014!

I will have a list of guests available by early next week. The young actors will receive sides prior to the workshop, which they will prepare for the event. There will also be plenty of improv and exercises that the kids always love.

I have been busy working on projects so far in the early part of 2013, but many of the families who have done workshops with me in the past have been asking me about a new one. Well, it's high time we had another weekend workshop for the kids!
I want to do a one-day, audition-focused, intensive Workshop for Young Actors on Saturday, May 18, 2013, from 9:30am to 4pm. The workshop cost is $175 (with a non-refundable deposit of $75 due by Friday, May 4 to confirm attendance). As soon as the first five deposit payments have been received, location information will be confirmed. The workshop is limited to the first ten actors with paid deposits. A second day (on Sunday, May 12) will be added in the case of high interest in the workshop.

Two Days Away!
Wow, the weekend is here, and I am ready to have some fun on Sunday! The scenes have been sent to the actors, our guest director Luis Garcia is excited, and our guest actors Kristi Bogart and Mike Prosser are ready to do some improv with the young actors!

announcing the Special Guests for Jan.13th workshop!
I am happy to announce that we will have some great guests at the upcoming workshop. They are coming to share their professional experience with the kids, and give them invaluable feedback.
Joining us as one of our guest actors, who will be improvising scenes with the young actors, is my friend Danny Belrose. Danny has a long resumé that includes stage, network TV, and major motion pictures.
Our guest director for the day is Luis Garcia, a writer/director with a feature film and other projects in development. Before nesting in Portland, Luis worked in NYC and LA as a casting assistant and script reader, among other jobs.
Also attending as a special guest when we watch the taped readings on the big screen, will be casting director Lori Lewis. Lori has done casting for Leverage, Twilight, and many other studio feature films shooting on location in Portland.
I really look forward to this workshop, and I know it will be a blast for all involved!
